EDA

The EDA adapter connects OctoMesh to EDA (Energiewirtschaftlicher Datenaustausch), the Austrian energy data exchange between market participants such as grid operators, energy communities and service providers. The adapter does not talk to the EDA network directly: it exchanges XML messages (ebUtilities schemas) with the HttpAdapter of a Ponton X/P Messenger, which handles the transport (KEP) to the other market participants.

With the adapter, pipelines can

  • receive EDA messages from the HttpAdapter and parse them (status messages, metering point lists, consumption records),
  • start EDA market processes (e.g. register a metering point with an energy community, request consumption data) and
  • send notifications (CPNotification) as replies to received messages.

The market processes supported by the adapter, and how they are used by the energy community solution, are described in the user guide under Supported EDA processes.

Adapter configuration

The adapter configuration holds the connection to the HttpAdapter of the Ponton X/P Messenger. It is applied when the adapter starts and again whenever the configuration is updated at runtime (e.g. Update Configuration in Refinery Studio); running pipelines pick up the new values with their next execution, no restart is needed.

UserstringYes-User of the HttpAdapter (basic authentication)
PasswordstringYes-Password of the HttpAdapter user
IsSimulationModeboolNofalseIf true, outgoing messages are sent with document mode SIMU instead of PROD (EDA test messages)
note

The property names of the adapter configuration are case-sensitive and written in PascalCase. A configuration without Host, User or Password cannot be read and is rejected.

The nodes that talk to the HttpAdapter (EdaReceiver@1, EdaStartProcess@1 and SendNotification@1) have their own optional properties host, user, password and isSimulationMode. Every property that is set on the node overrides the corresponding value of the adapter configuration for this node only; properties that are not set fall back to the adapter configuration.

Nodes

Extract nodes

NodeDescription
EdaReceiver@1Receives EDA messages from the HttpAdapter of the Ponton X/P Messenger
EdaReceiverSimulation@1Reads EDA messages from XML files instead of the HttpAdapter (development, testing)

Transformation nodes

NodeDescription
EdaParseMessage@1Parses a stored EDA status message into an EdaMessageInfo (process result, metering points)
ExtractProcesses@1Reduces a list of EdaMessageInfo objects to the newest message per process
SplitConsumptionRecord@1Splits long consumption record messages (DATEN_CRMSG) into chunks of a maximum duration
ParseConsumptionRecord@1Parses a consumption record into energy data, one entry per meter code
AggregateConsumptionRecord@1Parses a consumption record and aggregates the quantities to daily values
FilterEnergyData@1Keeps only the newest energy data per metering point and period
SearchExistingEnergyQuantities@1Finds stored energy quantities that overlap new energy data
CreateMeteringPointData@1Creates metering point data from an ECMPList message
CreateMeteringPointUpdate@1Decides whether a metering point is created or which existing entity is updated
ExportMeasurementsToCsv@1Exports measurements of metering points to CSV

Load nodes

NodeDescription
EdaStartProcess@1Starts (or plans) an EDA market process and sends the request message
SendNotification@1Sends a CPNotification to a market participant

API reference

The configuration classes of all nodes and the data transfer objects (e.g. EdaProcessInfo, EdaClientResult, EdaMessageInfo, EnergyData) are documented in the API reference of the EDA adapter.

note

All nodes are available in the EDA adapter that are tagged with general availability.
